DUTIPORT provides answers quickly to your pressing customs & excise or international trade questions.
Customs’ main focus is compliance and revenue collection!
The South African Revenue Service's (SARS) latest Strategic Plan 2016/2017 - 2021/2022 highlights this fact. Importers/ exporters and manufacturers – basically all Customs’ clients are strongly advised to review their activities regulated by the Customs legislation with a view of improving their compliance levels. The new Customs legislation will be implemented in phases, with the first phase focusing on Licensing, Registration and Accreditation, scheduled for implementation prior to the end of 2016/ 2017. All Customs’ clients will be required to re-license/ register with SARS Customs.
High risks; Complex Law!
The tariff classification codes a science to decipher, the customs value not necessarily the price you actually charged your client to name among other important matters.
Customs and Excise legislation is voluminous and about to be replaced with new laws soon being the Customs Control Act and the Customs Duty Act.
We are able to assist with the interpretation, application and compliance with the customs laws - locally and internationally.
